French Press

Another simple and excellent method for making your coffee. Here, the brewer has ultimate control of water temperature, grind, and brew time. Too fine a grind using this method and you will not be able to press your coffee. Experiment with a medium to coarse grind and let the coffee brew four minutes before pressing. From here, vary brew time and grind to suit your taste. Some things to keep in mind:

-Start with a clean press and add hot water to preheat the press pot. While you are at it, preheat your mug as well.
-Grind 2 mounded tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of coffee to be made. The grind should be medium to coarse.

-Add water that is just shy of a boil. Moisten all the grounds and allow them to dome. After a minute, stir the domed grounds and add water to the desired amount. Let sit for 4 minutes.
-Strain the press pot by plunging the filter and enjoy the bean in your preheated mug. Drink immediately or transfer to a thermos.
